The Herring Run Archaeology Project: 2018 Maryland Preservation Award Recipient

On February 1st, the Herring Run Archaeology Project was honored with a 2018 Maryland Preservation Award for Outstanding Individual Leadership. We would like to thank our outstanding volunteer, friend, and all-around wonder woman Irene Smith, for nominating us for this award. We would also like to thank Maryland State Delegate Mary Washington and Maryland State Senator Joan Carter Conway for joining us at awards ceremony.

It’s terrific to receive recognition for something we are so passionate about, but this project belongs to our community, and our volunteers from all over the state. Thanks to all of you for joining us to explore the history of our corner of Baltimore. We couldn’t do it without you, and we hope to continue to tell the stories of Baltimore’s past with you for years to come!
